Past and Present:

1966 - The Faculty of Economics was founded, comprising three specialisations: Economics of construction industry and transport, Accounting and Agriculture economy;
1971 - A new Finance specialisation was added;
1974 - The specialisations of Finance and Accounting merged into the Finance-Accounting specialisation.

International academic cooperation programmes:

The faculty has established cooperation with well-known universities in France, Belgium, Germany, England, The Netherlands and the USA, resulting in new study centres, such as Romanian-American Center for the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Institute for Business Administration, Romanian-American Learning Resource Centre, Centre for Finance and Banking, Regional University Centre for Lifelong Training. Within the Erasmus programme, the faculty established partnerships with universities abroad, including: University of London, Universidade do Porto, Universidad de Granada, Athens University of Economics and Business, Universite "Robert Schuman" Strasbourg, Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen. Currently the faculty is involved in a Leonardo da Vinci project - EUCEBS.
