GENERAL INFORMATION
Incoming
students have the same rights as the Romanian ones, being allowed to
use all the facilities of the University; i.e. library, sports
facilities, Internet etc.
The University has a very well equipped library, with over 1,500,000
books from all fields. The importance of the University Library of
Craiova is reflected by the fact that in 1974 it acquired the status
of copyright library, having a copy of all reviews and magazines
published after 1974. The University Library extends to all
faculties, offering prompt and useful help to users. The library
data base is on the computer and can be accessed from any terminal
in the University.
Students can use a large number of computers both in a various
faculties and in specially equipped places. All the faculties are
interconnected in a local network that facilitates communication
between departments and enables the use of the Internet. For the
exclusive use of Romanian and/or incoming students, there are two
computer rooms in which the Internet can be used 24 hours a day.
Prices are very low.
The students can also use 8 gymnasiums and a fully equipped sports
centre.
Foreign students can get accommodation at low prices.
National and incoming students get free of charge medical and dental
assistance in students' medical centres.
The existence of a bilateral agreement between the home institution
and the University of Craiova as well as the conditions of selection
should be checked at the Office of International Relations from the
home university. Each university has its own selection criteria.
Please note that students will not be accepted unless they have an
official document issued by the home institution in which the
student's nomination should be stipulated.

ACCOMMODATION
For
the foreign students there is a limited number of places/rooms in
students' hostels, the rooms have two or more beds and their own
bathroom. Prices are low and it is advisable to book a place in
advance (no extra charge for this). Compared to prices in EU
countries, private accommodation is cheap, but the University does
not offer any information on this.
