CURRENT TEACHING ACTIVITIES

Statistical physics, addressed to the students in the second year from the bachelor degree studies at the Faculty of Physics, University of Craiova
Main topics: the study of classic and quantum models of statistical physics and the application of these models in the study of complex and collective phenomena from other domains of physics (Physics of solid state, Electricity and magnetism and so on), in engineering and other domains of exact and social sciences in parallel with the extension of the concept of “entropy”; the unitary description of physical phenomenology at macroscopic level in equilibrium or non-equilibrium conditions on the basis of entropic properties; the analysis, the explanation and the interpretation of statistical and thermodynamic properties in different classic and quantum statistical assemblies, with the appropriation of techniques of deductive construction of the fundamental equation of thermodynamics; the application of principles and of the deductive system of statistical physics for the determination of statistical and thermodynamic properties in the case of ideal systems and in the case of systems with interactions.

Environmental physics, addressed to 3rd-year students, bachelor degree studies at the Faculty of Physics, University of Craiova
Main topics: the study of physical properties of the main environmental elements: the air, the water, the soil; the study of transport phenomena (transport of mass, energy and impulse) recurrent in environmental physics, laws of preservation applied in environmental physics; mechanic, thermo, optical, electric and acoustic phenomena recurrent in environmental physics; solar radiation, types of radiations, measure units, sources of radiation; radioactivity, physical methods for measuring radioactivity; risk factors in environmental pollution, depollution and environmental recovery

Extended BRST symmetries, addressed to the students in the second year from the master degree studies in Theoretical Physics at the University of Craiova
Main topics: basic notions and concepts of the extended BRST formalism: degenerate Hamiltonian system, extended phases space, total BRST charge, extended BRST invariant Hamiltonian, generalized Poisson brackets in the Hamiltonian case, respectively generating set, gauge orbits, the space of all field histories, non-canonical operators, extended master equation, BRST generator of the extended symmetry, the generalized anti- brackets in Lagrangean case; methods of construction of extended phases space in Hamiltonian formalism, respectively of the space of all fields histories in Lagrange case; the introduction of mathematical elements necessary in mathematical constructions, as well as of theorems of existence of basic ingredients of BRST symmetry (BRST charge and extended BRST invariant Hamiltonian at Hamiltonian level, respectively the solution of extended master equation at Lagrangean level); gauge-fixing techniques in extended BRST formalism; the technique of construction of extended BRST symmetry in terms of (co)homology algebras.
