ABSTRACT

A male and a female of Epidalea viridis, both with ectrodactyly and brachydactyly at the right hindlimb, were identified in the campus of the University of Oradea (Bihor County, Romania). Besides these deformities, the remainder of the hindlimbs structure was unaffected. These limb deformities, most probably were caused by chemical pollutants that can proceed from very different sources and infiltrate in the breeding ponds of the toads, the studied population living in an urbanized habitat.
