ABSTRACT

The study was made in December 2006 – January 2007 period. During the study there were explored, those regions from north-western Romania where there are thermal swimming pools or drillings. After the identification of the possible thermal habitats we passed to identify some amphibian species (first of all Pelophylax ridibundus) that are actives during winter as well, in these thermal habitats. Was identified three new thermal habitats, wich are placed in the neighborhood of the following localities: Chiraleu, Sânnicolau de Munte and Beiuş, all in Bihor County. The new thermal habitats look in many aspects like those signaled previously to our study. The new thermal habitats owe their existence to human activities.
