ABSTRACT

In the forest from Livada in Satu-Mare County, Salamandra salamandra takes down to 150 m altitude. This is the most reduces altitude where the species was noticed so far in the western part of Romania. The salamanders are present in the areas with high humidity level of the forest, at the foot of the most west peaks, which limits the Oaş Depression.
