ABSTRACT

The purpose of this work is the characterization of the optical properties of two types of pigments for paints: FeMnCuOx and black carbon.

From spectral reflectance and transmittance measurements in the wavelength range 200 to 1850 nm we can determine the effective scattering and absorption coefficients per unit length of these pigments.

The samples were obtained using low concentrations of FeMnCuOx or black carbon pigments dispersed in resin matrix.
