ABSTRACT

The main objective of this paper is to present the transformation process of hydrophilic fibres into hydrophobic fibres by grafting chains of fatty acids at the glucosidic sites of the wheat and oat fibres. The obtained esters were first analysed by IR spectrofotometry and afterwards we determined the weight growth and the degree of substitution by saponification.
