ABSTRACT

The Catharanthus roseus syn. Vinca rosea belongs to the Apocynaceae family and it has small seeds (1g contains about 550 seeds) and for obtaining 1000 plants there is need of 3 g of seeds. The seeds germinate after 6-8 days in percent of 60%.

For the temperate zone we recommend the seeding at the end of the January in glasshouse in this case the flowering taking place at the end of May. By its qualities, the dark pink color, intense and long blossom, high vegetation mass, we recommend this species for sidewalk, mixed bands, plant groups; as cut flower can persist a week.
